Christopher Black

Chris leads Merck’s Corporate Alliance Management & Integration team providing enterprise-level leadership for a multi-billion-dollar portfolio of strategic alliances and collaborations, and overseeing all M&A integrations.  

Throughout Chris’s 18 years at Merck, he has primarily managed partnerships for development, manufacturing and/or commercialization of vaccines and pharmaceuticals.  Chris has managed global, regional and local Strategic Alliances, Joint Ventures, Public Private Partnerships, Institutional Businesses and NGO partnerships collectively active in over 110 countries.  Chris played a key role in the creation and startup of two new multinational biopharma companies, the split-up of a European vaccines company, and the 2021 spinoff of Organon from Merck.  

Before joining Merck, Chris served as an active-duty US Army officer.  Following his military service, Chris joined Cintas Corporation, a diversified business services company, where he held positions including Sales Manager, Plant Manager, General Manager and Regional Director.
