What is the structure of the case competition?
You will form a team of 4-6 members (2 MBA students max/team). If admitted into the First Round, your team will have ~1 week to solve the healthcare-related case prompt. Following, your team will present your proposed solution(s) in a 10-15 minute video presentation. More detailed information will be included in our manuals for competitors. If admitted into the Final Round, your team will present your solution in front of a live panel of judges on November 13th, 2021.

What if we don’t have MBA students in our team? Can we still participate in the competition?
Yes. You can participate as long as there are 4-6 members in your team.

How many teams will be admitted into the First and Final Rounds??
First Round: After the submission of the cover letter and resume, 15-18 teams will be admitted to the First Round.
Final Round: After the submission of your team’s video presentation, 4-6 teams will be admitted to the Final Round.

I don’t have any consulting experience or business background. Can I still compete in the case competition?
Yes, absolutely! We encourage everyone who is interested in consulting to apply, regardless of whether you do or do not have prior consulting experience. It will be a great learning experience!

How can I find teammates?
We encourage teams to be formed through individuals you may know from your program, extra-curricular activities, lab, etc. Additionally, we will host two virtual coffee chats that will enable you to meet other interested applicants and form teams of 4-6.

What is the entry fee for the competition?
There is no entry fee. Feel free to apply!

What is the timeline after the coffee chats?
October 6th: Application Opens
October 8th: Virtual Coffee Chat #2 (8:30 PM EST)
October 16th: Application Deadline (11:59 PM EST)
October 19th: Skill Building Course - Day 1 (Time TBD)
October 20th: Skill Building Course - Day 2 (Time TBD)
October 22nd: Accepted teams announced (~15-18 teams)
October 25th: Case Prompt Announced
November 2nd: First Round Deadline for Case Materials (11:59 PM EST)
November 9th: Finalists announced with feedback from judges (~6-8 teams)
November 13th: Final Round (Live via Zoom); Winners announced.

Will teams get to work in person or just virtually?
The entire event will be virtual. You can interact in person with all the teammates if they are local and agree to do so.

I have a team, do we need to register individually or can we register as a team?
Application should be submitted on a per team basis.

Can teammates come from different schools and institutes?
Yes, team members can come from different schools and programs. Applicants must be matriculated either full-time or part-time for the Fall 2021 semester in an U.S. graduate training program (post-doc training programs included).

Will the case competition be document or slide-based?
It will be slide-based.

Will the previous case prompt and winner’s slide deck be shared to participants?
Unfortunately, we CANNOT share the previous case prompts or the past competition winners’ slide decks. We strongly encourage participants to attend our 2-Day Skill Building Course which will cover a case study and PowerPoint etiquette, in addition to other relevant topics.

Will the slides or recording of the 2-Day Skill Building Course be posted?
Unfortunately, we will NOT be posting the slides or sharing the recordings.
