Gloria Durham

Glory Durham is the Senior Director of Healthcare Strategy at the University of Pennsylvania, serving in a  joint leadership role across Venture Lab and Penn Health-Tech. She leads university-wide efforts to  translate and commercialize healthcare technologies, supporting faculty, students, and early-stage  startups as they move from discovery to market. Her work sits at the intersection of strategy, operations,  and ecosystem building, with an emphasis on cross-campus coordination, strategic partnerships, and  scalable program design that strengthens Penn’s healthcare innovation ecosystem, including  collaborations with the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia.

Previously, Glory served as Director of Operations at Penn Health-Tech, where she played a key role in  shaping the center’s growth and institutional footprint. In that role, she supported the launch of faculty  funding initiatives (including an accelerator and seed grant program), expanded cross-campus  collaborations, and strengthened connections between academic research, industry partners, investors,  and commercialization pathways, laying the groundwork for many of the platforms she now leads.

Before joining Penn, Glory held public health leadership roles in Allegheny and Chester counties, where  she worked on infectious disease response, emergency preparedness, and crisis communications  during emerging public health threats. This experience, combined with her training in infectious disease  epidemiology and business strategy, informs her approach to healthcare innovation, grounded in real world systems, risk management, and measurable impact.

Glory holds a Master of Public Health in Epidemiology, Infectious Diseases, and Microbiology from the  University of Pittsburgh and an MBA in both Entrepreneurship and Marketing and Operations  Management from the Wharton School. She earned her bachelor’s degree from the University of  Pittsburgh with concentrations in neuroscience, psychology, and chemistry. Her interests include digital  health, med-tech, and advancing inclusive innovation in women’s health and pediatrics.
