Chad Komar

President

Chad Komar is a MD candidate at the University of Pennsylvania. During medical school, Chad completed both a master of science in chemistry and master of science in immunology. His thesis research is focused on developing CRISPR/Cas based genome editing and screening technologies, for which he has been awarded a Ruth L. Kirschstein Predoctoral Individual Fellowship (F31). As a Questbridge Scholar matched to Penn, he received his B.S. in Biochemistry prior to matriculation into the MD program. Chad realizes the integral role PBG played in his professional development and the opportunities it has given him. Therefore, Chad will use his role to provide opportunities for other graduate students and post-docs to grow their own consulting toolkits. His interests are in commercializing therapies that meet the needs of patients, and he is passionate about the interface of healthcare and innovation. Outside of his studies, Chad can often be found at home cooking or running along the SRT. If you see him, strike up a conversation about medicine, science, your favorite BYOB, or personal finance.
