Alexander Starr

 

VP of Networking

Alex is a 5th year, Pharmacology PhD candidate in the Perelman School of Medicine. His thesis research focuses on understanding the role of cannabinoids in regulating HIV infection in the brain. Prior to graduate school, Alex received his BA in Biology from NYU and spent 4 years studying neurodegeneration in private, non-profit research institutes. He has served as a team member, project manager, and project director across 5 PBG projects and completed an internship at a local biotech. He is particularly interested in improving the translatability of basic research and answering complex questions at the intersection of therapy development and healthcare systems. In his free time, Alex enjoys baking, customizing watches, and building computers.
